Congratulations to everyone who participated in our Gazetteer/NC trivia contest. Maybe we’ll have to come up with harder questions next time? Of the 29 people who responded to the contest, 15 got all the answers correct. It all hinged on question #7: How many North Carolina counties take their name from American Indian words or names? The correct answer, according to the Gazetteer, is 10: Alleghany, Catawba, Cherokee, Chowan, Currituck, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Watauga, and Yadkin.
I wrote down the names of all those who got it right, and our lovely and talented marketing intern Lauren picked the slip of paper with the following name: E. Lee. So, E. Lee, I’ll be contacting you by email to arrange for you to receive your free book.
Thanks for participating, everybody! Let’s do this again soon with another book…. Hmm….
cheers!
