Longleaf Services Welcomes Three New Client Presses

Longleaf Services is pleased to welcome three new distributed client presses to the group: Washington State University Press, The Pennsylvania State University Press, and Hong Kong University Press.

Longleaf welcomed Washington State University Press in early May 2026. Known for publishing works that explore the history, culture, environment, and people of the Pacific Northwest, WSU Press brings a strong regional perspective and commitment to environmental scholarship to the Longleaf community. WSU Press’s Director, Linda Bathgate, had this to say about joining Longleaf:

“We are extremely grateful to be working with such an engaged, effective, and enthusiastic team as the Longleaf crew. While we had feared that the transition from our own order and warehouse systems would be overly burdensome, Longleaf has made it a smoother path than we’d ever thought possible. The members of the team are competent, well-informed, and encouraging, facing each new challenge we present with aplomb. We now have brilliant new colleagues who are introducing us to best practices across the board and who will do whatever they can to help us succeed.”

Joining Longleaf in July 2026 is The Pennsylvania State University Press, whose publishing program advances scholarship while highlighting the history, culture, and environment of Pennsylvania and the broader region. Longleaf also welcomes the return of David Aycock to the community in his current role as Executive Director of Penn State University Press. David adds:

“Having worked previously with Longleaf Services in my career, I’m confident that Penn State University Press will benefit greatly from Longleaf’s excellent team, expertise, and capabilities. We’re thrilled to join the cadre of noteworthy, like-minded publishers in Longleaf’s portfolio, and Penn State’s award-winning publication offerings are poised to add significant value for existing Longleaf customers. It’s a textbook win-win from my perspective.”

And finally, joining in early 2027 for US distribution is Hong Kong University Press. Celebrating its 70th anniversary, HKU Press publishes across Asian studies, history, film, public health, art, urban planning, and law—in Chinese as well as English. Publisher Michael Duckworth said:

“Our staff and I are very excited to join Longleaf’s dynamic team and its highly collaborative family of prestigious partner presses, which will help expand our bilingual publishing program in many ways and strengthen Hong Kong’s role as a global hub for knowledge exchange.”

Clay Farr, CEO of Longleaf Services, added: “We are delighted to welcome each of these wonderful presses to the Longleaf family and to also broaden the geographic reach of our community. All these presses have interesting and important publishing programs, and it is an honor for us to have the opportunity to help distribute their works to the widest possible audience.”
