Would they mention my troubled past or that I occasionally smoked weed …or would they mention that I was a responsible university student interested in creating a society in which young people aren’t getting gunned down due to our fears , judgement , and lack of understanding. People please realize that we should never just think we know who or what someone is based on their economical status , ethnicity , gender , etc. We need to start learning more about each other rather than relying on statistics and stereotypes.

We can’t trust the media anymore. Ever since the cops gunned down #michaelbrown the media portrayed him as a thug or a menace to society to justify a reason for his murder. The way a person dress doesn’t define who they are or what they haven’t accomplished. Media tends to do that a lot especially if towards minorities. So #IfTheyGunnedMeDown the picture they would use is the picture with a gun and knife in my hand knowing that that’s a costume for a short action video I will be in but make it seem like I’m some domestic terrorist and the cops would be in the right for killing me. They’d make sure my pictures of my achievements in not only in academics but in life would never see the light of day. They make it seem like when minorities are killed they never had anything going for themselves, never graduated high school or college, doesn’t have a job, and that we are better off dead. It’s time we fight them back towards discrimination. #dontjudgeabookbyitscover #minoritiesforthewin
