Longleaf Services Announces Three New Client Presses
Longleaf Services is pleased to welcome three new distributed client presses to the group: Aarhus University Press, RIT Press, and Kent State University Press.
Longleaf welcomed Aarhus University Press, based in Denmark, in early September 2025 for North American Distribution. Anne Engedal, the Press Director, shared the following: “As the largest university press in Northern Europe, we are delighted to join Longleaf. Their model—developed by and for university presses—aligns perfectly with our mission and values. We are excited to stand alongside so many of our esteemed peer presses already in the Longleaf community. We are sure this partnership will further strengthen our presence in North America, grounded in a shared commitment to scholarly excellence and meaningful collaboration.”
Also joining in September 2025 is RIT Press at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. Laura DiPonzio Heise, the Press’s Director, had this to say about the partnership with Longleaf: “After nearly 25 years in scholarly publishing, RIT Press is transitioning from in-house order fulfillment and distribution to a partnership with Longleaf Services. Our extensive research confirmed that Longleaf’s services are well suited for presses of all sizes, including smaller operations like ours. By consolidating our multiple service contracts under Longleaf’s comprehensive and integrated portfolio, we can redirect our focus and resources toward key areas of title acquisitions, development, design, and marketing.”
And finally, joining Longleaf in early 2026 is Kent State University Press. Clara Totten, the Press’s Director added: “We are thrilled to join Longleaf Services. As a small press, Longleaf’s wide array of services, options for umbrella agreements, and commitment to the mission of university presses really stood out to us. We look forward to starting the next chapter together.”
Clay Farr, CEO of Longleaf Services, added: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to serve this wonderfully diverse group of presses. Each has its own set of needs and priorities, and we are well positioned to help them meet their goals.”
