Tom Bowers to speak about the early years of journalism education at UNC

Tom Bowers is author of Making News: One Hundred Years of Journalism and Mass Communication at Carolina, distributed by UNC Press for the School of Journalism and Mass Communication of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In Making News, Bowers relates the story of how the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill grew from a single course in the English department in 1909 to become an international leader in journalism-mass communication education.

This evening, Bowers will speak about the history of UNC’s journalism program at Wilson Library, on the campus of UNC. From the Library announcement:
